Since ancient times people in the Middle East ate grounded black seeds with sesame. This paste is a preferred breakfast treat. It is mixed with honey sugar or syrup and dipped with bread. In the winter time special sweets are made with this paste with semolina and it is filled with raisins and nuts. This paste is very rich in Calcium and Magnesium. How To Prepare Black Seed Sweets?
Ingredients

  • 1 cup black sesame seed paste
  • 1 cup brown wheat
  • 1 cup semolina
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp backing powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Warm water for kneading the dough
  • Nuts, raisins, cinnamon for filling
  • Sugar syrup made from 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water
  • Brown Wheat Flour


Method

Mix 1l2 a cup of warm water with the yeast and a small tsp of sugar. Leave aside until bubbles appear. Mix the dry ingredients, and then add the yeast water and paste. Knead the dough add just enough water to form a smooth dough. Put it in a square cake tray about 20cm. Brush it with oil. If you want to fill it put half the dough sprinkle the top with raisins nuts cinnamon, coconut. Then put the other half. Put some water on the palm of your hand and smooth the top. Leave in a warm place for an hour. Then bake at 170 C for about twenty minutes or until slightly brown at the edges. When it is still hot, pour the cold syrup on the top.
